Why do I need a blower door test performed?
If your project is a single residential new build, most counties in the state of Florida require a certified individual to perform and sign off on this test per the Florida Building-Energy Conservation Code.
Do I need this test if I am renovating a single residential home?
No, Section R402.4.1.2 lifts the testing requirement for additions, alterations, renovations or repairs to an existing home’s building thermal envelope if the new construction is less than 85 percent of the thermal envelope.
